The canvas is hung on the wall with nails, from top to bottom. Its lower margins are folded up and have wound themselves around the wooden construction placed inside the canvas, like an open envelope. On the right and left, canvas protects the edges of the work. It is structured
so that the viewer's head is at the same height as the dark rectangular space. Because of the gloom, the viewer cannot see the inside. Facing the viewer, the dark canvas sheet descends from ceiling-height into the depth of the black rectangle.
